LOCK Features

Currently we are utilizing version 3.2.3 and we have an issue being able to lock the file. The fille becomes unlocked on its own even if we have gone into tools and specified an extended lock with specified times.
Any work arounds to the lock feature? The zero for infinite does not seem to hold either.
